Overlandish Tent

I haven't used the tent yet. Plenty of room inside even standing up was no problem.

I bought this tent last year at the end of November. I'm writing this review now, because I finally was able to use the tent over this last President's Day weekend. If I remember correctly, I was a few days late to take advantage of their Black Friday deal. I contacted Overlandish and they were able to get me a discount code but it wasn't the Black Friday deal. Still very much appreciated as it did help knock down some of the cost.

Here are the positives for me: It fit easily in my old 5 foot bed 2nd Gen Tacoma. I found the tent clearly had enough room a small table with a buddy heater, cot and a dog bed. If I brought my 8 year old , it would of been tight but doable. The tent was well ventilated and let enough light in during the day. There was condensation in the morning, but I was using a buddy heater and condensation was expected. The good ventilation dried up the tent in no time during the day. With that said, the insulation did help shield me to from the high 30s/ low 40s degree temps were I was. Set up was easy enough and stowed away with ease as well compared to my older traditional tent.

The negatives but not a deal breaker: the zipper on the door would get caught ever so often but just means I need to be a bit more careful. I thought it would be a complete black out inside, however the seams would let light in. Little pin holes of light would bleed in.

Overall, I'm very please with the the purchase.

Solo base camp

I originally purchased the standard base camp which is great but for my needs and strength level I opted to then purchase the solo. It’s light enough I can carry it and lift it onto the roof of the 4runner by myself. Easier to maneuver and manage alone. Slept in it 2 separate weekends so far. Rainy, windy and snow. No issues whatsoever. Everyone at camp coming up wanting to know what brand tent it was and I’m sending them Marks way. This tent kept us warm in 17 degrees and rain/snow with wind gust up to 45 mpg and all I had staked was the rain fly. The rain fly is loud during the wind but the tent itself is so quiet and insulated you don’t know the sun has come up in the mornings. I would highly recommend this tent for anyone who is looking for quality ground tent. Fits full size air mattress with enough room in the sides for our jackery battery and to get in and out of the doors. Slept 2 people and dog comfortably. In comparison to the standard base camp we can fit 2 universal size Teton cots with room to spare in there. So if we are staying for extended time we will use the large and for just a weekend or solo trip this is exactly what we will grab.

Overland(ish) base camp solo

Great customer service, great products;

I’m mind blown that Overland(ish) products aren’t stocked at REI. This base camp solo blows away majority of tents/shelters related to build quality and ease of setup. Worth every penny.
