Overlandish Basecamp game changer

After waiting and researching tents theist couple of years I finally decided on one. I wanted a tent that had some room and set up easy as the current tent I was using had the room but was cumbersome to set up by myself to a point a couple of off road trips I was ready to check into a hotel. I thought I had it narrowed down until I was in Colorado and camping at 9500ft and the temps got down into the mid 30’s at night in August. Now had to research style of tents that a were insulated had a means to heat them. I was torn between the jiffy pop one and the Overlandish tent. I could not pull the trigger as both had issues that I was worried about such as the zip in floor that the zipper was on the floor down low. After waiting to see what would come out this year I was tickled that Overlandish made the changes I had doubts about. It moved the floor zippers and made it a bathtub floor and added more ventilation. I ordered it and waited for it to arrive. It arrived and it did not disappoint. I had it set up in under 2 minutes the very first time by myself and the thing is very well put together. The stitching and reinforcements are top notch and the hardware is not cheap and chinsy like a lot of tents give you. I can’t wait to head out on my trips this year that also includes some high elevation camping this coming fall. The owner, Mark, is awesome, he replies back to the chat and answers any questions you may have and even called me to make sure every thing was what I was wanting. Top notch guy! I will be looking into more of his products in the future.

best overlanding camp on market

I’ve run my Basecamp through just about every scenario you can imagine—half‑dozen weekend trips in the Sira Nevada, a windy desert camp‑out, and a full week on the playa at Burning Man 2024—and it’s never missed a beat.

What stands out:
1. Rock‑solid in extreme wind. Gusts that had nearby Shiftpods listing like sails barely ruffled the Basecamp’s fly.
2. Dust and weather management. Zippered HVAC ports, double‑wall construction, and a floor that actually seals kept the interior far cleaner than any other soft‑shelter I’ve tried.
3. Set‑up speed. 1 person, ten minutes.
4. Interior space.
5. Customer support.

After a season of rigorous use I can say, hands down, this is the best mid‑size expedition tent on the market—and yes, better than the Shiftpod it replaced. If you want a shelter that stays cool under shade, shrugs off dust storms, and still looks fresh after power‑washing, the Basecamp is it.

(And be warned: every campground stop, someone will ask for the brand and model—be ready to give a tour!)

Impressive Customer Care

Very very impressive customer service. When making buying decisions it’s not easy to trust quality when just looking on a website.
Sometimes you just have to cross your fingers and hope…so to reassure myself I made a call.
After speaking with the owner of Overland(ish) I am confident that the quality, detail and trust will be met. I have had many questions and “all” have been answered with care
and consideration for me and how I can best use the Basecamp Standard. I am not just going camping, I will be spending quality time with family and making memories.
Based on our conversation I can tell the owner of Overland(ish) isn’t just selling product but providing guidance on how to “enjoy” the use of his products. I look forward to excepting delivery of my purchase and
If the experience is anything like our conversation I am certain I will be grateful. Thanks for all your help !
Regards,
Peter
