outstanding

where do i start. well, maybe with the fact that we went from rtt straight to this palace. yes it s heavy, yes it s somewhat bulky. but since no rtt on roof rack, this tent paired with the all weather back checks 99% of my wish list. the space inside is amazing, the fact you don't wake up to a bright light coming through in the morning is so appreciated. (we got the green one) it s cozy, not suffocating, it s airy, it s comfy, it s well made. it s sturdy. and you can stand in it, you can hang out in it. you can take naps during the day. you can stay out of elements and not feel cramped. couple of things i wished for would be not triangular door but it is what it is. i would love to have regular wide doors to leave open and have a bigger view. the new rain fly is so much more practical but i wish it had a longer overhang like canopy so when you step out from the tent you are still covered. or you could hang out in front of the door in chairs and be out of the sun exposure. almost like a extended awning. also unless i missed it i wish it had tabs or some type of hooks on the inside all around to hang string lights but there are poles so i still be able to hang it. now the customer service - i have NEVER EVER dealt with a company that was so on point whenever i reached out for help or advice. instant reply or a phone call convo ensued. every. single. time. this alone makes this company worth 100 times more valuable to me on top of their outstanding beyond well made product. i can't wait for more adventures in this tent.

A Different Kind Of Shelter

had invested in a project on a social funding site about a year ago and was planning on fitting that shelter with many pieces of equipment to make it a better shelter than just a regular nylon tent. When that shelter was to ship, it was delayed in Customs because of tariffs. I needed a shelter in a few weeks and looked through so many reviews and videos of shelters that were set up similar to ice fishing shelters. One stood out because of the quality of materials and how it fit my needs. I wanted a shelter that I could set up on my own, that I was able to stand up inside of and had features to be able to out fit it with lighting and a heater/ air conditioner if I choose to use one. The Overlandish Base Camp fit all these. I called to talk about the shelter and how the Weather Pack fit the shelter. I was surprised to talk to Mark the owner of the company. He told me about the shelter and to treat it with Nix Wax products to extend the water repellent coating, which I did when it arrived. When I took it out camping it was more than I expected. I had enough room to set up a cot, inflatable sofa and have lighting to make it more home like. During this trip it was cool and buggy. I could retreat to the inside of the Base Camp and still be comfortable to read and do tasks like maintain my tools or fine tune some of my gear. It did rain on my last two days and water ran off the Base Camp as expected. I did get a very small amount of water inside because I didnt put the cover on a window correctly but it didnt ruin anything. I really. Enjoyed the set up and take down process and with practice, folding it up and putting it in the bag got easier. At 60lbs it’s heavy but manageable. It fit inside my Subaru Outback in the back seat with no problem. Next trip I will be able to use the Weather pick and will hopefully get some video of how to set it up and show it off. Thanks you Mark for your help and I hope to post some videos of the Weather Pack set up soon.

Best Damn Habitat for Camping

Picked up the latest version of the Overlandish Basecamp with all it's latest bells, whistles, and features. Took it up to NW of Flagstaff camping a few weekends back and it was definitely not a disappointment. Quite the opposite. Hands down, it's the best damn tent and design of any temporary human habitat (cough cough tent) that I've ever had the pleasure to luxuriously camp in. Sure it was just me and the dog, but there was loads of room for all my gear, and could of easily fit another person in it, pimped out glamping style. Most definitely happy with this purchase.

Game Changer

I ditched investing in a micro camper or roof top tent once I stumbled upon the Basecamp standard on Youtube as an alternative overland sleeping solution. It's an intuitive design that sets up and breaks down very easily. It's really nice to have a tent that offers an overabundance of space, insulation, wind protection, while the set up/breakdown is not on your mind at all. I plan on taking it across the Midwest into Colorado and Utah for a 3 week overlanding trip. Im confident it will do its job well. The only thing i wish is that the foot print was included. Other then that, I think it's a solid investment for some serious and stress free camping.
